Cheatham County Animal Clinic is where our dogs go for regular and urgent care. This vet is close to my house and often is not busy, so my dogs are not stressed out in a waiting room for long. The veterinarian's and vet techs here are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate that the staff recognizes me and my dogs on sight (or when I call).
Should you ever need to use the services of an Emergency Animal Hospital, we highly recommend Nashville Veterinarian Specialist, Clarksville. I have also used their Nashville location and found them to be exceedingly comforting in caring for my dog. I've had to put a pup down with them, as well, and they were wonderful, even sending me ink paw and nose prints and a ceramic paw print at no extra charge. I highly recommend this group for your pet emergencies.

We highly recommend that you get pet insurance for your dog or cat. Unexpected issues that require expensive care can happen to even the best of pet owners, and it's important to make sure you're covered when it does. With pet insurance, you can focus on giving your pet the best care possible, rather than deciding their fate based on your bank account.
We use Pets Best Insurance for our dogs' insurance. After doing a ton of research, we determined that Pets Best was the best option for a multi-dog home, especially for adult and senior dogs. Their pricing is fair, and they are quick to pay us back for qualified expenses. Pets Best also comes with 24/7 urgent care support from an expert vet, which I have used multiple times to check in with when I wasn't sure what to do (like when Levi ate an entire sandwich...in a plastic bag!)
While Pets Best may not be the company you choose to go with, I highly recommend researching pet insurance and investing in this for your pet. You should choose a company that caters to your unique situation: whether you have a puppy, senior dog, multiple dogs, or dogs with pre-existing conditions, there is a pet insurance company that's right for you!
Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue and Agape Animal Rescue is where our dogs are from. Both programs are foster-based, meaning that they don't have a shelter where dogs are left unattended- all dogs are kept in loving foster homes with reputable foster families. This not only helps the dogs adjust better when they get to you, but ensures they are socialized and well cared for until adoption.
They are also 'cradle-to-grave' organizations. This means that they accept anything from newborn puppies and kittens to senior dogs in need of hospice. Adopters are required to sign something saying that if you adopt a pet and can no longer care for it for any reason, that you will give the dog back to them. This helps reduce the number of animals which are 'rehomed' to inappropriate families as well as ensure they are cared for in the best possible way in the interim.
Lastly, they both have a forever fosters program for dogs or cats which still have quality of life but require long-term medical care. These pets are placed with 'foster' parents who care for them until the end of their life, while the organization covers the cost of their medical care.
While it's not pleasant to think about, our furry friends are never with us for as long as we'd like. When you have the opportunity to choose the date and time of your pet's passing, an at-home option provides the most comfort to you and your pet. These providers can help with that.
Did you know that not all pet dental products are alike? The Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) keeps an up-to-date list of all products that they have approved for doggy dental care (there is a separate list for cats). Investing in dental products which are easy to incorporate into your lifestyle such as special food, treats, or additives can send you a ton of money in the long run, as pet dental work can cost hundreds of dollars each time.
Similarly, the Center for Pet Safety (CPS) approves harnesses, carriers, and crates.
We want to give our dogs the best, but we also try not to spoil them. That's why, after exhaustive research, we give my dogs the following products:
Dog Food: Purina One+ Digestive Health
Treats: Milk-Bone Brushing Chews
Dental Care: Oxyfresh Dental Water Additive
